PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti stressed the importance of political intervention to address the ongoing issues between India and Pakistan during a press conference. She argued that military action fails to bring lasting peace and highlighted the immediate need for de-escalation of border tensions.

Mufti pointed out that recent incidents such as Pulwama have exacerbated tensions, leading to civilian casualties, including women and children. She urged leaders from both countries to halt attacks and engage in dialogue to prevent further loss and instability in the region.

The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister called upon the media to refrain from war propaganda, advocating instead for truthful reporting to discourage fear and panic. Mufti's appeal extends to both nations' leaders and journalists to prioritize peace and humanitarian efforts.
