Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of children, including twins Ayaan and Aruba, in a deadly crossfire between India and Pakistan. During a press conference on Friday, Mufti emphasized that military actions only address superficial issues, calling for Prime Ministers on both sides to end the prolonged conflict.
Mufti advocated for political intervention, arguing that military solutions fail to deliver peace. She urged Indian and Pakistani leadership to cease attacks, highlighting the adverse impact on Jammu and Kashmir's people. Citing past military responses, like the Balakot airstrike following the Pulwama attack, she questioned their effectiveness and called for lasting peace in the region.
Both sides have claimed successful military strikes, suggesting an equal settling of scores. Mufti made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referencing his statement on the end of war. She urged both nations' leaders to communicate directly, resolving the ongoing conflict diplomatically and sparing further suffering, particularly in border areas.
