Tragedy Strikes Border: Ceasefire Violations Claim Life in Kashmir

In a tragic incident along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, a woman lost her life, and two others were injured in heavy shelling by Pakistani troops in the districts of Baramulla and Kupwara. On Thursday night, shelling targeted civilian areas, damaging structures and forcing residents to flee.

The Indian Army has acknowledged the ceasefire violation by Pakistan, responding proportionately to the aggression. The most affected areas included Silikot, Boniyar, Kamalkote, Mohra, and Gingle in the Uri sector. Tragically, a family attempting to escape the violence was caught in the crossfire when a shell struck their car, leading to the death of Nargis Begum.

Further violations occurred in Gouhalan, Chotali, Tourna Post in Uri and parts of Kupwara district on Friday. Despite the intensity of the shelling and the breach of the ceasefire, no further casualties have been reported as of yet, according to officials.
