In a resounding statement against the glamorization of war, former Indian Army chief General Manoj Naravane addressed the necessity of diplomacy over conflict. Speaking in Pune, Naravane asserted that war is a grave affair, far removed from any romanticized cinematic depiction.
The General highlighted the psychological trauma civilians endure, particularly those living along border areas, noting the lasting impact of such experiences, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He asserted that war should be the last resort, echoing sentiments shared by India's Prime Minister.
While asserting his readiness for war if directed, Naravane underscored dialogue as the preferable path to resolving national and international disputes. This perspective follows India and Pakistan's ceasefire agreement amidst ongoing tensions.
