Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, has expanded the scope of property tax exemptions for homes owned by Indian Defence personnel within the state's gram panchayat limits.
Previously, this benefit was restricted to retired soldiers or those posted at the borders. Kalyan's recent announcement extends it to all active personnel, regardless of their deployment location across the country. This decision underscores the state's appreciation for the national defenders serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, and paramilitary forces.
The exemption applies to properties where personnel or their spouses reside or hold joint ownership. The initiative followed a recommendation from the Director of Sainik Welfare, highlighting Andhra Pradesh's profound respect for its uniformed services.
