In the midst of heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, China's senior foreign ministry official, Liu Jinsong, met with Indian Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat. The discussion centered on bilateral relations and regional stability, according to a brief press release from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The escalation began when India launched precision strikes against terror infrastructure after a deadly attack in Pahalgam. Responding to India's actions, Pakistan subsequently attempted multiple assaults on Indian military bases.
After four days of cross-border hostilities, India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement, welcomed by China as a beneficial development for regional peace. China expressed readiness to mediate and support dialogue to foster long-term stability in the region.
