The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reports that North Korea plans to dispatch thousands of military construction workers and deminers to Russia. According to the agency, the announcement was made by high-ranking Russian security official Sergei Shoigu during his recent visit to North Korea, highlighting the deepening cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
Earlier in the month, Shoigu met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang to discuss reconstruction efforts in Russia's Kursk region, further cementing the two countries' growing partnership.
