In a move that marks a significant political shift, Rahul Gandhi is set to move into his new official residence at 5, Sunehri Bagh Road. The transition aligns with his birthday celebrations as Gandhi prepares to assume his role as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
According to party sources, Gandhi has accepted the Sunehri Bagh bungalow as his official address. He began moving his belongings on Thursday and is expected to occupy the residence before the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, starting July 21.
This relocation comes after Gandhi vacated his previous home at 12, Tughlaq Lane, following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha over a defamation conviction, which has since been revoked. Previously living at 10, Janpath with his mother, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul's new residence replaces the erstwhile abode of Karnataka BJP leader A. Narayanaswamy.
