Uddhav Thackeray, chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), convened a crucial meeting with district unit presidents on Friday to strategize for the forthcoming local body elections in Maharashtra. The meeting aimed to prepare for the elections of 29 municipal corporations, 32 zilla parishads, 336 panchayat samitis, and 248 municipal councils.
Key discussions included ensuring readiness at the grassroots level, monitoring electoral roll revisions, and overseeing the ward delimitation process. Senior leader Anil Parab emphasized the importance of galvanizing the party cadre as they gear up for the electoral battle.
While some party members expressed a desire to contest independently, a decision on whether to collaborate with Maha Vikas Aghadi allies—NCP (SP) and Congress—will be made by Uddhav Thackeray. Earlier, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar highlighted the consideration of a joint fight among alliance partners.
