India has initiated Operation Sindhu, a mission to bring home Indian nationals amidst escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. With Iran lifting airspace restrictions, three charter flights have been facilitated to evacuate around 1,000 individuals from Mashhad.
The Iranian deputy chief of mission, Mohammad Javad Hosseini, announced the preparations for more flights should the situation demand. India has taken swift action to safeguard its citizens, with the first evacuation flight estimated to land in New Delhi on Friday evening.
Despite Iran closing its airspace amid the hostilities, they have made special arrangements for the safe passage of Indians, highlighting close cooperation with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy. The commitment is underscored by Iran's remarks that Indians are like their own people.
