The Congress has announced a major reshuffle at the grassroots level, appointing new District and City Congress Committee Presidents across Gujarat. This move marks the first organisational overhaul undertaken by the party in the region.
The restructuring is part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, a campaign initiated in April to revitalise the Congress party from the booth to the district level, emphasising transparency and inclusivity. The effort included 43 AICC observers and 183 PCC observers, such as state in-charges, MPs, MLAs, and former PCC Presidents conducting field visits across Gujarat.
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal stated that the initiative aims to prepare the party ahead of the 2027 Gujarat Assembly Elections by ensuring new leaders reflect the state's social and regional diversity and possess strong grassroots connection and organisational skills.
