AAP Gains Ground as Sanjeev Arora Leads in Ludhiana West Bypoll
AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora leads by 1,269 votes over Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu in Ludhiana West's bypoll. Initial counts show Arora with 2,895 votes against Ashu's 1,626. The bypoll, held after MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi's death, saw a 51.33% voter turnout, lower than 2022’s state poll turnout.

Aam Aadmi Party's Sanjeev Arora is currently leading the Ludhiana West assembly bypoll with a 1,269 vote advantage over Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu, according to initial counting trends.
After the first round, Arora accumulated 2,895 votes, while Ashu gathered 1,626 votes. BJP's Jiwan Gupta remains in third place with 1,117 votes.
The voting, which took place on June 19, saw a voter turnout of 51.33 percent, a significant decrease from the previous 64 percent in the 2022 state elections. The bypoll follows the unfortunate passing of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January.
