AAP's Sanjeev Arora Leads in Ludhiana West By-Election
AAP's Sanjeev Arora was leading in the Ludhiana West by-election with a significant margin over Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu. Arora secured 5,854 votes compared to Ashu's 3,372 after two counting rounds. The bypoll was prompted by the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi.

AAP's candidate, Sanjeev Arora, has taken a decisive lead in the Ludhiana West assembly seat by-election, surpassing Congress's Bharat Bhushan Ashu by 2,482 votes according to initial counts.
Post two rounds of vote counting, Arora has accumulated 5,854 votes, while Ashu trails with 3,372. BJP's Jiwan Gupta is positioned third with 2,796 votes in a field of 14 candidates.
This by-election was necessitated by the demise of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi earlier in January. The bypoll saw a voter turnout of 51.33%, significantly lower than the 64% in the 2022 state polls.
