Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he describes as 'trivialising' the opposition, taking aim particularly at Modi's absence from all-party meetings following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Kharge suggested that Modi's failure to attend shows a lack of respect for the opposition, pointing out that all other political leaders managed to be present amid challenging circumstances. He accused the Prime Minister of prioritizing election campaigning over national unity.
Speaking in Raichur, Karnataka, alongside Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Kharge emphasized the importance of collective political effort during crises and warned that the youth and citizens will not tolerate disrespect for the opposition. He also defended Congress's welfare guarantees amid attempts to undermine them.
