Thailand's Cabinet Reshuffle Amidst Border Tensions with Cambodia
Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra plans a cabinet reshuffle to stabilize her government amid criticism over handling tensions with Cambodia. Following a phone call scandal, the Bhumjaithai Party left the ruling coalition. Paetongtarn intensifies border scrutiny, while opposition calls for protests against her leadership.

In a bid to stabilize her government, Thailand's Prime Minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, has announced a cabinet reshuffle set for completion this week. The reshuffle comes amidst growing criticism over her handling of a border dispute with Cambodia, which has strained diplomatic relations between the two Southeast Asian nations.
The political landscape shifted dramatically when the Bhumjaithai Party, the second-largest in the coalition, withdrew last week after a controversial phone call between Paetongtarn and Cambodian leader Hun Sen leaked. In the call, Paetongtarn seemingly deferred to Hun Sen, sparking backlash and threatening her leadership.
As tensions rise, Paetongtarn has taken a firmer stance on border security, linking illicit activities to the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, anti-government entities have planned protests, and Paetongtarn faces legal challenges as the Constitutional Court considers her conduct over the phone call.
