Naveen Patnaik, the president of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), is reportedly recuperating well after a cervical spine surgery performed at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. His brother, Prem Patnaik, assured the public of his health improvement in a statement released on Monday.

Prem Patnaik expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha and others for their prayers and good wishes, noting that Naveen is already taking small walks, indicating progress. The surgery, which addressed cervical arthritis, was deemed successful by the hospital's CEO, Dr. Santosh Shetty.

Dr. Ramakant Panda, who oversaw the procedure, mentioned that Patnaik will remain monitored for a couple more days before transferring to a private room. A discharge is anticipated in four to five days, marking a swift recovery for the veteran politician.
