Tensions escalated in Telangana as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy labeled opposition BRS as a 'dead snake,' challenging former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to convene a discussion on water issues concerning the Godavari and Krishna rivers.
During the 'Rythu Nestham' programme, Reddy assured locals that Telangana would consult the Supreme Court if the Andhra Pradesh government progresses with the contentious Godavari-Banakacherla river linking project, a scheme met with political turmoil.
Accusing the BRS of attempting to play politics with the region's water issues, Reddy criticized the party's recent failures in various elections. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh's stance under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu presents the project as a measure to redirect excess water to drought-stricken areas.
