Police on Tuesday thwarted a protest march by the opposition People's Democratic Party in a demonstration against the National Conference government's perceived failures and betrayal of public trust.
Officials reported that multiple PDP leaders, including general secretaries Abdul Haq Khan and Mohammad Khurshid Alam, were detained as the protest was disrupted.
The protest addressed issues like drinking water scarcity, increased electricity tariffs, and the incarceration of local youth outside the region, highlighting the PDP's criticism of what they describe as government 'dictatorship.'
