The electricity cut, which plunged the venue into darkness just as Minister Sharma was about to cut the ribbon, lasted nearly ten minutes, leading to immediate disciplinary actions. Following directives from the minister, key department figures including Chief Engineer AK Singhal and Superintending Engineer Sunil Agarwal were suspended.
Experts attributed the blackout to a cable fault caused by electrical overloading. This is the second disruption at a ministerial event this year; the first occurred in March during an event in Mau, sparking further disciplinary measures within the department.
