The controversy over Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate has taken a political turn after a video showed him playing a mobile game during the legislative council session. The incident was revealed by NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, causing a widespread uproar.
Minister Kokate defended himself, stating he inadvertently opened the game on his phone while the Upper House was adjourned. Despite his clarification, the situation has drawn severe criticism from opposition leaders.
Senior Congress leader Nana Patole called for Kokate's resignation, emphasizing that the agriculture minister should focus on developing policies for farmers, not playing games. Patole further insisted on a complete loan waiver and crop insurance for farmers, pressing the Fadnavis government to act promptly.
