On Tuesday, the Lok Sabha witnessed disruptions as opposition members protested against the ongoing voter roll revision in Bihar and demanded discussions on Operation Sindoor. The opposition's vocal demands led to repeated adjournments, stalling the legislative process.
During the Monsoon session's second day, opposition members called for a rollback of the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision exercise in Bihar, which is ahead of the assembly polls scheduled for later this year. When the House reconvened, BJP member Jagdambika Pal, who chaired the session, appealed to opposition leaders to ensure their members returned to their seats.
The disruptions continued despite appeals from Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for maintaining order. Speaker Om Birla emphasized the importance of preserving the dignity of the House. The protests also highlighted demands for discussions on military operations targeting Pakistani terror sites under Operation Sindoor, further escalating tensions in Parliament.
