In a fresh wave of political criticism, Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, has questioned US President Donald Trump's persistent assertions about mediating peace between India and Pakistan. Gandhi's remarks came amidst growing scrutiny of the Modi government's response to Trump's statements.

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh voiced his discontent over the government's refusal to address Trump's claims, which he said had now been made 25 times in 73 days without adequate rebuttal. Ramesh also criticized the lack of discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and the ensuing Operation Sindoor in Parliament.

Highlighting the ongoing demands for accountability, Ramesh pointed out that despite President Trump's claims of preventing a nuclear escalation between India and Pakistan, the Modi administration remains unresponsive. The opposition is actively calling for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the nation on this and other crucial matters like the Special Intensive Revision exercise by the Election Commission.
