Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has launched a scathing critique against the Madhya Pradesh government, accusing it of issuing hollow announcements in the legislative assembly. Nath alleged that the endless promises made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan remain largely unfulfilled.
Addressing reporters after the assembly session, Nath derided the government as one of 'announcements and assurances,' quipping that Yadav and Chouhan would win any award for making empty promises. He supported the Congress's strategic decisions regarding Parliament and reiterated the party's call for a 27% reservation for OBCs.
Nath defended the past Congress government's actions on OBC reservation, rebutting claims by CM Yadav that the legislation was incomplete. He expressed solidarity with Sonia Gandhi's criticism of alleged 'genocide' in Gaza and the Modi government's silence on the issue.
