West Bengal's Grassroots Initiative: 'Our Neighbourhood, Our Solution'

The West Bengal government unveiled a significant grassroots outreach initiative, 'Amader Para, Amader Samadhan', to tackle localized problems such as street lighting and road conditions. Valued at Rs 8,000 crore, this first-of-its-kind project aligns with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's vision, commencing formally in August.

Overseen by a task force led by Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, the program started camps across districts on Saturday. Each booth receives Rs 10 lakh, highlighting the government's commitment to addressing community-specific needs with an administrative evaluation anticipated after initial engagement.

The program promotes active citizen involvement through its dedicated tracking website, underscoring transparency and participatory budgeting. Officials' on-ground presence ensures that local grievances are addressed efficiently, reinforcing the state's pioneering approach in placing community needs at the core of governance.
