Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday criticized opposition parties for their continued protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative of the voter list in Bihar, which coincides with upcoming assembly elections. Joshi accused them of stalling parliamentary proceedings and emphasized the SIR is a standard procedure now incorporating technology.
Joshi questioned the opposition's skepticism towards constitutional bodies, including the Election Commission and the judiciary, implying a lack of faith from their side. Highlighting Parliament's assurances, including discussions on Operation Sindoor, he condemned opposition tactics as obstructive.
Congress MP Md Jawaid raised significant concerns over the reported 65 lakh reduction in voters in Bihar, speculating on the exclusion of migrant workers and questionable death toll figures used to justify the deletion of names. Jawaid dismissed explanations as implausible, branding it a 'vote theft.'
