On Monday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced plans for nationwide protests to mark the second anniversary of Imran Khan's arrest. Khan, the party's founder and former prime minister, was detained on August 5, 2023, following a corruption conviction.

Zufiqar Bukhari, Khan's adviser on international media, revealed the strategy, noting protests would occur constituency-wise, demanding the rule of law. He also criticized the Punjab government for arresting PTI workers in anticipation of the protests.

Asad Qaiser, TTAP's Secretary General, declared from Swabi an alliance-led national protest. Stressing peaceful demonstrations, he called Khan's arrest illegal. The opposition plans protests in every district, with rallies orchestrated across various regions to uphold democratic rights.
