Peace Eludes Jammu and Kashmir Amid Diplomatic Strains

Farooq Abdullah, leader of the National Conference, declared that the ongoing militancy in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be eliminated unless diplomatic ties with Pakistan are strengthened. His comments came during a visit to the Shopian district.

In a frank conversation with reporters, Abdullah responded to assertions that militancy in the region was a thing of the past. He pointed out that strained relations impede lasting peace.

Additionally, Abdullah questioned such claims in light of ongoing encounters in the Kulgam district, adding that the situation remains far from resolved.
