The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party has scheduled an important meeting for August 13, bringing together its district secretaries under the leadership of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin. The meeting is set to begin at 10:30 AM at the party's headquarters in Chennai.
This discussion follows in the wake of Tamil Nadu's release of its State Education Policy (SEP), which stands in opposition to the National Education Policy (NEP). The primary focus of the meeting will be the party's membership drive.
Earlier, Chief Minister MK Stalin emphasized that the SEP has been tailored to reflect the distinctive nature of Tamil Nadu. He announced the state's commitment to a two-language policy, underscoring the importance of fostering critical thinking and incorporating physical education alongside traditional studies.
Stalin also highlighted plans to introduce smart classrooms under the SEP. "Our aim is to ensure inclusive education," he stated, emphasizing the new policy's goal of fostering rational thought and equality in education standards, setting the stage for competition with global educational benchmarks.
