Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of crying foul whenever the BJP wins an election. Speaking to reporters in Udalguri, Sarma refuted Gandhi's allegations of vote fraud and collusion between the BJP and the Election Commission, dismissing them as baseless.
Gandhi had claimed there was a 'huge criminal fraud' in the electoral process, involving a vote theft model across various constituencies. Sarma responded that such allegations arise only when BJP wins, contrasting this with silence when Congress emerges victorious in places like Karnataka or Telangana.
The controversy escalated after Gandhi highlighted a supposed voter fraud involving over one lakh fake or duplicate voters in the Mahadevapura assembly constituency, citing misuse of Form 6. However, Sarma countered that similar claims have always followed BJP's electoral successes.
