Maharashtra Congress Accuses BJP of Electoral Misconduct: Calls for Statewide Agitation

Escalating its showdown with the BJP, the Maharashtra Congress organized a 'rasta roko' protest on Friday, accusing the ruling party of electoral misconduct with aid from the Election Commission (EC). Led by state chief Harshwardhan Sapkal, party members blocked traffic and vocally condemned both the ruling party and the EC.
During a press briefing at Tilak Bhavan, Sapkal criticized the EC for allegedly losing its credibility by siding with the BJP. He lashed out at the governing body, calling it a 'broker or advocate' for the BJP and demanding answers about the response to Rahul Gandhi's Parliament allegations.
With claims by Gandhi of institutionalised electoral theft, the Maharashtra Congress is gearing up for a statewide protest to demand a Supreme Court-monitored investigation. The party asserts that without an independent probe, electoral integrity remains under threat and promises ongoing agitation until justice is served.
