In a vehement attack on the Election Commission, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Commission of colluding with the BJP in alleged electoral malpractices. He argued that a 2023 law was introduced to protect the EC from legal scrutiny while it purportedly assists the BJP in 'vote chori'.
Gandhi, speaking at the end of the first day of his Voter Adhikar Yatra from Sasaram, pointed out the alleged bias where he had to submit an affidavit for exposing 'vote chori', but BJP leaders faced no similar requirement for their claims. He stressed the importance of protecting the principle of 'one person, one vote'.
Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Gynaesh Kumar dismissed allegations of 'vote theft' as baseless. He reiterated that the electoral roll revisions aim to rectify all discrepancies transparently and criticized misinformation spread by some parties.
