The Congress Party has levelled serious allegations against the Election Commission, accusing it of 'blatant partisanship' and 'incompetence' following Chief Election Commissioner Gynaesh Kumar's remarks defending the commission's actions in Bihar.
Addressing these claims, Kumar stated that the goal is to rectify voter lists and criticized any misinformation being spread around the process. However, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh countered by questioning whether the commission would adhere to the Supreme Court's directives.
Congress leaders, including Pawan Khera, further criticized the CEC, urging him to resist political pressure and ensure the democracy is protected. The opposition's charges come amid widespread dissatisfaction with the ongoing voter list revisions and the EC's stance.
