Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel has called for heightened regional cooperation to tackle the pressing issues of climate change, biodiversity loss, and air pollution impacting the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. He made this appeal during the inauguration of the Hindu Kush Himalaya Parliamentarians' Meet.

The high-level assembly gathered approximately 200 delegates, comprising parliamentarians, policymakers, and climate experts, reflecting a concerted effort to craft a roadmap for present challenges while committing to future solutions. President Paudel emphasized the significance of collaborative governance in addressing these shared environmental crises.

The conference also saw contributions from officials like Nepal's Foreign Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba, and Environment Minister, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, underscoring the need for political dedication to combat the escalating climate challenges. Such regional gatherings highlight the critical yet often under-recognized challenges facing mountain ecosystems in global climate policies.
