The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has categorically dismissed the prospect of entering into a pre-poll alliance with Congress for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections in Goa. The party's state unit president, Amit Palekar, voiced concerns about Congress's track record, accusing it of consistently abandoning its allies.
Palekar highlighted a prevalent sentiment in Goa politics, suggesting that a vote for Congress often equates to a vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He cited instances of Congress MLAs defecting to the BJP, creating disillusionment among voters regarding Congress's reliability.
Despite previously supporting Congress candidates in past elections, such as the Lok Sabha polls, Palekar reiterated AAP's decision to contest the 2027 electoral battle solo, underscoring instances in other states where Congress purportedly let down allies.
