The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party is carefully weighing its options ahead of the upcoming vice-presidential election. Party working president K T Rama Rao announced that BRS is keeping its distance from both the NDA and the INDI Alliance for the polls.
Rama Rao emphasized his party's opposition to any candidate backed by Congress while stressing their interest in supporting a nominee who contributes to Telangana's welfare. As the election day looms on September 9, the BRS is yet to be approached by either alliance.
The party has placed specific conditions on its support: any candidate capable of securing two lakh tons of urea for Telangana will be favored. This stance highlights the BRS's commitment to the region's interests, especially given the absence of Telangana representation in the Lok Sabha.
