BJD Demands Arrests for 'Objectionable' Social Media Posts

The BJD has officially filed a complaint urging prompt arrests over 'objectionable' social media posts targeting party chief Naveen Patnaik and his aides. The content, deemed offensive and disrespectful, has sparked outrage among the people of Odisha, who view Patnaik as a cherished leader.

In a message shared on X, Amar Patnaik, the head of the BJD's IT and social media cell and a former MP, expressed alarm over the subpar nature of the posts. He has appealed to the Odisha DGP to take swift action, including urging @Meta to remove the content and apprehend those responsible. Patnaik insists this content was designed to defame and disrupt, accusing rivals of using fabricated handles to sow discord.

Amar Patnaik further criticized AI-generated videos that misrepresented Pandian and his wife, both ex-IAS officers. In a letter to DGP Y B Khurania, he labeled the material as slanderous and harmful, calling for it to be treated as an FIR to safeguard political and social integrity.
