In a bold statement, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar accused the BJP of manipulating the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill to undermine its political allies. Speaking in Lakhisarai district, he criticized the Bill as a tool to control Bihar's CM Nitish Kumar, while also previewing tactics to keep allies Chandrababu Naidu in check.
The controversial Bill, proposed by Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha, has been met with staunch opposition. Critics argue it contradicts the Constitution's ethos and federalism, permitting the removal of high-ranking officials upon arrest for serious offenses.
Kumar lambasted the BJP's previous strategies, calling their efforts to sway opposition governments ineffective. He sharply criticized the Election Commission's role in electoral roll revisions in Bihar, while mocking PM Modi's double inauguration of a bridge, suggesting it was an attempt to regain the media spotlight overshadowed by Rahul Gandhi.
