In a recent address, Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal criticized the BJP government for exacerbating economic inequality and not addressing unemployment. Despite being out of power, Sapkal emphasized Congress's initiatives in organizing job fairs, thereby providing employment opportunities to hundreds of youths.

Approximately 75 companies from various sectors such as IT, banking, and insurance participated in the job fair held at Tilak Bhavan, Mumbai, shortlisting numerous candidates. Sapkal argued that the BJP government failed to fill 2.5 lakh government vacancies in Maharashtra, alongside more than 2.5 crore unfulfilled positions at the national level.

Sapkal further challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi on whether he would follow the RSS's advice to retire at age 75, amidst critiques of the BJP's governance. Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar supported by citing Maharashtra's rising unemployment rate under BJP's rule.
