In a spirited display of gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha president K Laxman spearheaded a 'Dhanyavaad Modi Ji' march in Hyderabad on Monday. The GST rate changes, described by Laxman as a "Diwali and Dussehra gift," have been hailed for benefitting the common man.
Speaking to ANI, Laxman urged traders and shopkeepers to support the implementation of these reforms, emphasizing the tax-free status of life-saving drugs and life insurance. The BJP OBC Morcha's march received support from party workers and local leaders, who handed out pamphlets detailing the benefits of the new tax measures.
Concurrent to these celebrations, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the societal and economic impact of the reforms, suggesting a potential GDP increase of 0.8 percent. Puri expressed that the new GST rates, effective from today, will create widespread joy and aid India's journey towards becoming a self-reliant nation, or 'Viksit Bharat'.
