Trump's Red Line: Deadline for Hamas to Accept Ceasefire Proposal
U.S. President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Hamas to accept a 20-point ceasefire plan backed by Israel. This proposal includes disarmament of Hamas, exchange of prisoners, and establishment of a transitional government. The plan has global support, though Hamas is reviewing it cautiously.

In a recent development, U.S. President Donald Trump has laid down the terms for Hamas to heed a ceasefire proposal backed by Israel. The White House, on Thursday, released details without committing to a specific enforcement deadline.
On Tuesday, Trump revealed that Hamas has a three to four-day window to consider the comprehensive 20-point document. This plan emphasizes the disarmament of Hamas, a point the militant group has consistently opposed. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, in a statement on Fox News, highlighted the necessity of defining a 'red line' should Hamas choose to disregard the proposal.
The proposal outlines an immediate halt to hostilities, a prisoner exchange, phased Israeli retreat from Gaza, and an internationally led transitional government. While similar terms have seen oscillating acceptance in past ceasefire agreements, global reception towards this plan remains positive.
