In a definitive stance against swirling rumors, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed on Monday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will fulfill his five-year term. The statement comes amidst ongoing speculation about potential leadership shifts within the state's political landscape.
Addressing the media, Parameshwara emphasized, "There is no confusion within the government and the ruling Congress on the matter." He further elaborated that Siddaramaiah, with the weight of his responsibilities, had unequivocally declared his intention to remain in office, thereby quelling any doubts.
The political discourse in Karnataka has been rife with talk of a power-sharing agreement between Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. Despite claims by some Congress leaders that Shivakumar might assume leadership in November, the party has not officially endorsed any such rotational formula.
