Mamata Banerjee Predicts Fourth Term Victory for TMC in West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will secure a fourth consecutive term in the state elections, dismissing the possibility of a BJP victory. Speaking at a rally in Haldia, Purba Medinipur, Banerjee urged opposition parties to unite against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.

She criticized the BJP for its chargesheet against the TMC, accusing it of corruption and compromising law and order, while announcing her own chargesheet against the BJP for misconduct in Haldia. "The BJP will not win in West Bengal. We will return to power and oust the BJP from Delhi by 2026," she declared.

Banerjee also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement of being the BJP's candidate in all 294 constituencies. With assembly elections set for April 23 and 29, and vote counting on May 4, Banerjee cautioned against electoral malpractice and promised to address any misdeeds. She noted the heavy deployment of central forces and vowed resistance through 'satyagraha' if necessary.
