Political Firestorm: Kharge's Controversial Remarks on Modi Ignite Heated Debate

In a heated political exchange, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of 'terrorising' the democratic framework of India, leading to fierce backlash from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The exchange took place during a press conference in Chennai, where Kharge criticized the AIADMK's alliance with the BJP.

Addressing the media, Kharge initially referred to Modi as a 'terrorist', a statement that prompted a strong rebuttal from BJP leaders who described it as an extreme personal insult to the Prime Minister. Kharge later clarified that his intention was not to label Modi as a terrorist literally, but to highlight what he described as the misuse of governmental power against opposition parties.

The BJP, however, rejected Kharge's clarification, with leaders such as Piyush Goyal and Amit Malviya condemning the remarks as disrespectful. Goyal demanded an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, while Malviya accused Congress of echoing sentiments against the nation.
