Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan, commonly known as Pappu Yadav, faced severe backlash after making controversial remarks on women's role in politics. The Purnea MP's comments were captured on video and quickly became viral across social media platforms.

Yadav allegedly stated that '90 per cent of women cannot do politics without going into a leader's room.' His statement ignited criticism from BJP leaders like Shehzad Poonawala and Tuhin Sinha, who described his remarks as 'shocking' and 'despicable.'

The Bihar Women's Commission has issued a notice to Yadav, asking him to justify his remarks within three days under threat of recommending his disqualification to the Lok Sabha Speaker. Yadav, currently campaigning in Malda for the West Bengal assembly polls, denied making any obscene comments, asserting he merely highlighted exploitation issues.
