Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, is determined to secure a fourth consecutive term for her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in the upcoming state assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Haldia, Banerjee emphatically stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not form the government in West Bengal.
She issued a counter-chargesheet against the BJP, alleging corruption in Haldia and accusing the party of taking cut-money in industrial areas. Banerjee highlighted her extensive tour of the state, claiming she understands that the people of West Bengal do not want the BJP to govern. She also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statements about being the BJP candidate for all 294 seats.
Expressing concerns over the election proceedings, Banerjee condemned the deployment of nearly 2.5 lakh central paramilitary forces by the Election Commission, questioning restrictions placed on commuting via motorcycles. As industries develop and healthcare improves in the state, Banerjee remains vigilant about potential election irregularities, urging TMC workers to identify wrongdoers.
