BJP Demands Apology from Congress Over Kharge's 'Terrorist' Remark

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday came down heavily on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for labeling Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a 'terrorist'. The ruling party called it a severe affront to the people of India and insisted that the Congress extend a formal apology.

According to BJP spokespersons, Kharge's statement is an indication of Rahul Gandhi's underhanded attempts to distract from substantive political dialogues, particularly concerning Modi's proposal for 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies. Kharge remarked that the prime minister was 'terrorizing' the democracy of India, which BJP labeled as reckless rhetoric.

Leading BJP figures, including party chief Nitin Nabin, have charged the Congress with playing a strategic game grounded in desperation. Union Minister Piyush Goyal accused the Congress-DMK alliance of stooping to unprecedented lows, insisting that such personal attacks will not alter their political fortunes. The BJP has rallied a unified stand, demanding public apologies from the Congress leaders.
