In Erode and Namakkal regions, voting faced delays on Thursday morning due to technical glitches in the EVMs and VVPAT systems. However, officials quickly resolved these issues to ensure the continuation of the electoral process.
A minor technical issue with the EVMs was noted in Erode's Soorampatti area but was swiftly rectified, according to officials. In Namakkal, at a polling station near the Kollimalai foothills, a malfunctioning EVM/VVPAT unit caused temporary delays before being replaced with a spare unit.
The voting process, part of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, began simultaneously across 234 segments at 7 AM on Thursday, under stringent security measures to ensure a smooth and fair election day.
