West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has captured the hearts of her Bhabanipur constituents with a vibrant roadshow on Thursday. The event, held near her Kalighat residence in south Kolkata, featured TMC leaders and workers, including Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, joining the colorful procession.
As the roadshow traversed the one-km route, locals gathered along the street to greet Chief Minister Banerjee, who made multiple stops to engage with children and the elderly. Streets were adorned with TMC flags, balloons, and banners, while onlookers watched from rooftops and balconies. Banerjee, running against BJP's Suvendu Adhikari, waved and greeted them warmly.
The lively atmosphere coincided with the ongoing assembly polls. A remarkable voter turnout of 89.93% was recorded by 5 pm in 152 of the 294 constituencies during phase one. The next phase of polling is scheduled for April 29, with results to be announced on May 4.
