US-Iran Tensions: Maritime Blockade and Evasive Tactics
The US continues its blockade on Iranian shipping citing security threats, as 34 ships have been turned back. Despite efforts, Iran manages to transport oil using deceptive tactics, including fake tracking data and navigating through Pakistani waters, as reported by maritime intelligence firms.

Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon, US officials reiterated their commitment to maintain the maritime blockade against Iranian shipping, aimed at neutralizing Iran's perceived threat to global security. The operation has already resulted in the turning back of 34 ships, according to official statements.
Despite these efforts, reports from Lloyd's List Intelligence indicate that Iran has been successful in moving some of its sanctioned oil. A steady flow of 'shadow fleet traffic' has been identified, with several tankers exiting the Gulf of Oman since mid-April, carrying Iranian cargo.
Maritime intelligence firm Windward has highlighted Iran's continued ability to circumvent the blockade through deceptive practices, such as falsifying ship tracking data and navigating through territorial waters of Pakistan.
