In a sharp political confrontation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia condemned Rajya Sabha members who have decided to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), branding them 'traitors.' The development has sparked outrage among AAP loyalists who claim the departure is motivated by personal gain at the expense of Punjabi workers.
Sisodia, in his posts on social media platform X, emphasized the sacrifices made by thousands of AAP workers in Gujarat and Punjab to uphold the party's ideology. He accused the defecting MPs of betraying the trust and hard work of these members for selfish reasons such as fear and greed.
The drama unfolded after three prominent MPs, Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, and Ashok Mittal, announced their defection to BJP in a public conference. This move was justified as aligning with constitutional provisions, although it has created severe backlash from AAP's top brass, including Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh, who have accused the MPs of undermining their constituents in Punjab.
